Our Story
Kate moved to her partner’s family’s farm and ranch several years ago. She would go on walks with her dogs and notice some of the cows being curious and she got curious right back! She quickly learned their behavior- what got them startled, what calmed them down, how to show them they could trust her, and how to interact with them in ways that they appreciated.
In 2020 Kate was newly graduated with a psychology degree. After watching crisis after crisis, it felt as if the world was on fire. She found the best way to stay connected with her hope for humanity was by bonding with the cows. Her and her husband Chase started their business Sweet Times on the Farm. During this time it became clear to her that she had two undeniable passions. She set out to get her masters in counseling with the goal of eventually bringing animals and people together in the spirit of healing. This became what she now offers- animal assisted therapy with cows, called “Cownseling.”
Their Story
Each cow on the farm has a different story as far as how they became trusting of humans. Some of them approached Kate and became gentle on their own like Babybull, Pepper, and Carlo. Quite a few became gentle because they had hard beginnings and Kate helped raised them like Silverbelle, and Luna (pictured right). Some of them are around to help the calves like Jenny, Snookie, Mocha. But no matter their story one thing is certain- they are each very special and love to help humans remember how to be present and relax.
