At their best, relationships are one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences in life. At their worst, they are confusing, full of conflict, and deeply painful. Working to understand and support your partner through the ups and downs is achievable, but it is not easy. If you’re struggling to navigate your relationship in a positive way, Kate can help with:
- repeated arguments
- resentment
- poor communication
- life transitions
- grief
- unbalanced mental load
- trust issues
- infidelity
- defensiveness/avoidance
Kate uses her understanding of polyvagal theory, attachment styles, and research by John and Julie Gottman to help couples increase skills in communication, understand the process of forgiveness, explore their emotions and unmet needs, assess values, explore attachment patterns, and increase emotional safety and intimacy.
The Process
Submit an appointment request. After the appointment is confirmed, you will receive intake paperwork via email for one partner to complete.
Your first session may last anywhere between an hour and an hour and fifteen minutes and will cover the issues that bring you to counseling and the background of both partners. At the end of the session, Kate will make recommendations for the frequency of visits and collaborate to set goals for what you’d like to get out of counseling.
