Katheryn Kiker LPC-Associate offers pro bono counseling via telehealth to individuals who are uninsured or struggling financially.
Eligibility
Due to the limitations of a private practice, only a few pro bono clients can be taken on the counselors caseload at a time. To qualify you must:
- Be an adult, 18 years or older
- Be a Texas Resident
- Fill out application and necessary documentation for income for self and any family you reside with or that gives financial support
- Fill out intake document
- Be able to receive telehealth counseling via google meet in a private space
- The mental health issues you’re experiencing must be within the scope of the counselors practice – anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, life adjustments, relational trauma, etc.
You will be asked to fill out an application that documents your financial position and reason for current hardship, if applicable. Determinations are used by evaluating income compared to the state of Texas poverty guidelines, as well as any other relevant information. If you are not eligible, you will receive a referral to another agency that can assist you.
Process
Reach out to Kate with your request to receive pro bono counseling, or book a free consultation call to get more info. If you are accepted into the free counseling program, you will fill out an application, and otherwise will onboard as a normal client would, and have the same rights and responsibilities.
The amount of pro bono sessions will be arranged with Katheryn, depending on the issue you are coming to therapy with. Please use the contact page to reach out with any questions.
